PSA employee arrested on lots appropriation charges

An employee of the Public Services Agency (PSA) was arrested on suspicion of involvement in a scheme to illegally obtain lots belonging to the Chisinau City Hall. Another six persons are for now investigated outside remand, IPN reports.

The National Anticorruption Center said the Agency’s employee identified persons who owned lots situated next to lots belonging to the City Hall and then, together with these, set up reinforced concrete blocks on the border between the lots. They erected allegedly temporary constructions on the lot of the municipality, which they legalized and added to the Real Estate Register.

So far, there were identified five cases of appropriation of lots owned by the Chisinau City Hall. Mobile phones, memory sticks, drafts and other items were seized as a result of the nine searches carries out in this case on Wednesday morning.

The PSA employee was arrested for 72 hours, being investigated for abuse of power or abuse of office. The other suspects haven’t been charged yet.
