All the citizens as from November 4 can apply for polycarbonate ID cards, driver’s licenses and vehicle registration certificates without restrictions. The service is fully available for all the application periods. If the person needs IDs in emergency mode, confirmatory documents do not need to be presented, IPN reports.

The Public Services Agency (PSA) said the persons who were issued with temporary IDs instead of polycarbonate IDs will be contracted in November and invited to the Agency’s local offices for being handed over machine-readable IDs.

To get a document, the persons can schedule an appointment through the website asp.gov.md, through the multifunctional centers (by phone) or through the agency of the call center (14909).

In September-October 2022, the PSA migrated to another data personalization system, switching over to a new technology for making machine-readable polycarbonate IDs with an increased security level. The Agency noted that most of the European countries apply such technology at present.
