Prut International awarded new prize for quality and diversity of book collections for children
The book for children and youth printed at Prut International Publishing House won the prize “Otilia Cazimir” at the International Book Fair LIBREX 2009 held in Iasi during May 6-10, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from Prut International.
The prize was awarded for the publication and promotion of literature for children and youth, for the quality and diversity of the collections of books intended for children of different ages.
The Bucharest publishing house Corint Junior won the same prize. The jury was headed by writer Ioan Holban, director of the Theater for Children and Youth “Luceafarul” in Iasi.
Prut International participated in LIBREX for the first time. More that 120 publishing houses and book distributors from Romania and abroad took part in the seventeenth fair held in Iasi.
Considered by specialists and the public as the second most important cultural event of the kind in Romania, LIBREX is the major event in promoting books and reading and in strengthening the relations between publishers, distributors, authors and the public, the communiqué says.
With traditions for publishing books for Moldovan children and youth older than 15 years, Prut International has a portfolio of over 1,000 titles of books for children. Many of them were awarded at national and international book fairs.
