The Cabinet approved the initiation of negotiations and the signing of the protocol on joint control at the railway border crossing point “Novosavitskoe-Cuchurgan” on the territory of Ukraine, IPN reports.
By other decisions, the executive approved the negotiation and signing of protocols on joint control at seven common road border crossing points.
The decision were taken in accordance with the agreement between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Ukraine on the joint control of persons, units of transport and goods at the jointly operated Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points that was signed by the Premiers of the two states on October 6, 2017.
The joint control will be based on the one-stop-shop international principle. The goal is to ensure the common border security, national security, public order and economic welfare of the signatory parties.
The protocols will be signed for a year and could be extended if the sides do not have objections.
