More than 100 people gathered together at the central entrance of the former National Stadium to draw the public opinion’s attention to the lack of a national stadium in the country and to protest against the Government’s intention to sell the territory of the ruined National Stadium, IPN reports.
The initiative group “Sporter”, which organized the protest with the support of the NGO Forum, said that if no measures are taken, there will be no national stadium in the country. But Moldova needs such a stadium, either on the old place or on a new one.
To take part in the event, those who wanted were invited to run at least once around the National Stadium. The protest entitled “Let’s return the stadium to Moldova” lasted for several hours. More than 100 people ran together about 1,000 km.
To allow following the developments, the organizers launched the website stadion.md, where the demands to ensure transparency in decision-making, submitted to the Government, and all the related news are published.
Earlier, the organizers posted online a petition in support of their initiative. So far the petition was signed by over 300 people.
