Protest with sale in front of Government Building

A group of pensioners mobilized by the Social-Democratic Party (PSD) brought secondhand goods in front of the Government Building in order to sell them to the employees. The protesters said they want to raise money to pay the bills, Info-Prim Neo reports. PSD executive secretary Sergiu Coropceanu said the event was a continuation of the protests staged the previous weeks. It was held on a Wednesday because the Government’s meeting takes place usually on this day of the week. “Regretfully, the meeting today will not be convened as the Prime Minister is in the Czech Republic. We have a number of questions as to his visit, including why the Premier is accompanied by directors of monopolist companies where Vlad Filat should bring things in order as they increased the tariffs? The answer is clear - the Prime Minister needs to cover the travel expenses for him and for those around him. The things that happen in our country are a shame,” said Sergiu Coropceanu. “We demand that the Government and the ministers who sit in their warm seats and do not want to go out and inquire about our lives should resign. We do not have money even for bread,” said protester Lidia Sholdonenko. The woman stated she came to sell the ministers some things in order to gather money for the bills. Another protester Larisa Trachenko said the people, especially the pensioners, struggle to survive. “We have to sell our belongings. I worked as an engineer my whole life and now nobody cares about me,” she stated. The Social-Democratic Party mounted protests in the Great National Assembly Square for three consecutive Saturdays, starting with November 12.
