The protest panned by the supporters of Renato Usatyi and Igor Dodon for October 4 was put off. The announcement was made by Renato Usatyi, who heads the Political Party “Our Party”, IPN reports.
In a message posted on Facebook, Usatyi says the decision was taken in order to avoid provocations. “The Platform “Dignity and Truth” is mobilizing people in a protest set to take place in the central square of Chisinau this Sunday. They announced the protest much earlier. To avoid clashes and provocations and the possibility of the situation getting out of control, we decided to postpone the protest scheduled for this Sunday,” wrote Renato Usatyi.
He also said that the authorities are waiting for a suitable moment and for a reason to declare a state of emergency, but they do not intend to give them reasons. “We will get rid of them by peaceful and legal ways,” stated Renato Usatyi.
Two large-scale protests were to take place on October 4. The first was planned by the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”, while the second by the Party of Socialists and the “Our Party”.
