Protest is not the best communication form, Veaceslav Ionita
“I think the protest is not the best communication form when the Government is open for cooperation,” the head of the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finance Veaceslav Ionita stated for Info-Prim Neo when asked to comment on the demands of flower sellers, who blocked Stefan cel Mare Blvd. in Chisinau on July 12.
Veaceslav Ionita said the Government initiated discussions to create a simplified system for taxing vendors of special products such as flowers, secondhand phones or companies that provide services for people without sellers, through coffee and snack vending machines and ATMs.
“We continue to work, maybe not as fast as some want, but the problems are being solved. We are considering two possibilities – allowing the persons to work by paying a common tax and under patent,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
According to the lawmaker, the Tax Inspectorate is doing calculations to determine the real price of the patent and is preparing to submit legislative amendments concerning the taxing of small traders to the Government and Parliament.
“I do not understand this protest, but hope that it does not have a political subtext,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
More than 100 sellers of flowers Tuesday blocked the section of Stefan the Great Blvd. between Pushkin and Banulescu Bodoni streets for about 20 minutes. They protested against the law that obliges them to set up private companies and to issue sale slips for the sold flowers.
