All the 44 Youth Centers of Moldova will get a consignment of protective equipment and disinfectant designed for youth workers so as to prevent and fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The consignment consists of infrared thermometers, reusable masks, antibacterial napkins, liquid soap and disinfectant, IPN reports.
The donation was made as part of the Joint Fund for the development of Youth Centers and strengthening participation and civic engagement among young people in the Republic of Moldova of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the United Nations Population Fund.
Nigina Abaszada, UNFPA Resident Representative in Moldova, said the youth centers are friendly institutions for youth development and participation. This donation will help the youth workers to provide youth services in safe conditions for their health.
The donation event was preceded by a discussion with the Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov. Nigina Abaszada and Igor Sharov discussed the activities carried out in the framework of the Joint Fund for the development of Youth Centers, the strengthening of the general and technical vocational education system’s role in preventing risky behaviors and promoting a healthy lifestyle and also the initiation of the process of assessing the National Strategy for Developing the Youth Sector 2020 and the possibility of providing assistance in working out a new strategy.
