Protection and Guard Service to get demilitarized and totally subordinated to the President

The State Protection and Guard Service (SPP) will be demilitarized and will subordinated exclusively to the President, not to the Government as it is now. The Parliament passed a law in this respect on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Demilitarizing the SPP is part of the military reform, which provide for demilitarizing the institutions not having the duty to insure the state's security. According to the new law, the SPP employees will be employees “with special ranks”, cfarrying out a special form of the public service. To get a job there, you' ll need to be over 21, and not over 18. The SPP chief will be appointed and dismissed by the President, at the proposal of the premier. The SPP is specialized in insuring the protection of the state officials, of foreign dignitaries during their stay in Moldova, their families, as well as in protecting the quarters and residences of dignitaries.
