A police officer was fined 4000 lei and banned from work for a year after the Anenii Noi Court found him guilty of abuse of authority and falsification of public documents. The prosecutors consider the sentence to lenient and have appealed it in the superior court, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the police officer from Anenii Noi used his position to hide evidence on several crimes in 2011, including by falsifying documents. He falsified papers with the help of which crimes like thefts and bodily injuries were not registered or never reached the prosecutors.
