The prosecutors in the first six months of this year established that damage of over 1.5 million lei was caused in the cases handled by them. Almost 680 million lei is the damage caused to the public budget, while 852 million lei is the damage done to private individuals and legal entities, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the prosecutors managed to recover about 175 million lei so far this year. Of this sum, 56.7 million lei was restored to the public budget, while 118.3 million lei to private individuals and legal entities that were victims of offenses.
The damage in the cases sent to court was assessed at 375 million lei. Over 109 million lei was restored to the state and the victims, twice more than in the first half of last year.
The property sequestrates in the first half of 2018 to recover the damage caused by offenses was valued at about 187 million lei. A part of the property was confiscated at the cadastral value. The money recovery percentage will increase when this property is sold at the market prices.
