Prosecutors investigate hunting company
The Prosecutor General’s Office identified serious violations of the legislation after inspecting Biotex-Com, a company that provides hunting services, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the PG.
According to the prosecutors, in March 2008 the company rented about 700 hectares of wood for hunting for 220,000 lei a year. Not having construction authorizations and without the consent of the lessor – the Forestry Agency Moldsilva – the company erected several buildings on the rented territory and fenced the area with barbed wire.
Moreover, the prosecutors say the lease agreement between Moldsilva and Biotex-Com was signed illegally as the wood was leased out without the participation and obligatory consent of the local public administration. The public tender procedure was also violated.
Besides, the rented territory was managed inappropriately. Inspections showed the wood was overpopulated, which affects the trees and bushes and the populations of animals by possible epizooties.
The Prosecutor General’s Office demanded that the lease be terminated.
