Prosecutors discover faults in activity of Moldsilva agency and subordinated forestry entities
The General Prosecutor’s Office has unveiled a series of faults in managing the money and using the state assets by the Sylviculture Agency “Moldsilva” and by a series of forestry enterprises, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the press unit of Procuratura.
Prosecutors says they found faults in rationally using the forest fund, in planting forests and controlling the modifications in the forests’ structure. A number of forestry companies recorded no incomes, but incurred large arrears to the budget. However, their managers can afford granting material aid, unjustified salary supplements and pay-rises (the entity from Straseni - 81 cases of granting money awards and salary additions, while owing 1.45 million lei to the state budget.)
Drawbacks have been found in managing money and in rational usage of public assets, especially, in terms of not observing the law on selling and procuring goods.
Other offences refer to wrongly concluding contracts, to lack of transparency in leasing plots of land, diminishing or not paying the rent; illegal construction of immovable on let lands, illicit wood cuttings, unauthorized grazing and polluting the forest fund.
The Procuratura finds that the ineffective management of forestry companies undermines the management of the state assets.
The General Prosecutor’s Office has notified Moldsilva management on violating the environment and offences legislation, as more cases are already criminally probed.
