Prosecutors charge Constantin Țuțu who is banned from leaving home

The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office indicted former MP Constantin Țuțu on charges of influence peddling and unjust enrichment. He will be in quarantine at home for 14 days and cannot leave the locality, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office Maria Vieru stated for IPN.

According to Maria Vieru, the ex-MP was questioned by prosecutors and he made a statement over the charges brought against him.

In accordance with the ordinances of the Commission for Exceptional Situations, Constantin Țuțu will stay in quarantine at home for 14 days. In this connection, the remand detention was replaced with ban on leaving the place of residence.

Former MP Constantin Țuțu surrendered himself to the Moldovan police at the Leușeni-Albița customs post on March 27.

A warrant for the arrest of the ex-MP was issued at the request of prosecutors last September. Constantin Țuțu is investigated for influence peddling and unjust enrichment.
