The Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office asks to sentence K1 wrestlers Aurel Ignat and Mihai Pârgaru, who beat to death a young man in front of a nightclub in Chisinau, to 15 years in jail each, IPN reports, with reference to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The prosecutors accuse them of hooliganism and intentional serious bodily injuring committed by several persons that resulted in death.

Currently, the culprits are investigated outside custody, while their accomplice is wanted. The sentence to the two athletes is to be given by the Chisinau City Court on June 26.

During an altercation in the parking lot of a shopping center on the night of May 19, 2018, the culprits and their accomplice beat cruelly a young man, who died in the hospital in several days. The victim, Sergiu Bejenaru, 30, was married and had a child aged seven.
