Prosecutor general tells PACE co-rapporteurs about case of Vlad Filat

The rights of ex-Premier Vlad Filat and of the group of former MP Grigore Petrenco are respected, Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin assured the PACE co-rapporteurs Valentina Leskaj and Ögmundur Jonásson, who are paying a visit to Moldova on February 22-23, IPN reports.

“The concerns of the PACE co-rapporteurs are concerns for us too, in particular the promotion of reforms, adoption of the Law on the Prosecution Service, corruption fighting and investigation of the bank frauds,” the prosecutor general told the press.

According to Corneliu Gurin, there are also concerns about the case of former Prime Minister Vlad Filat and of ex-MP Grigore Petrenco and company. He said that he told the PACE co-rapporteurs about the conclusions of the prosecution in these cases and specified that the rights of these persons are fully respected.
