Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo should finish the bank fraud case and should tell the Moldovan citizens how the fraud was committed and who is actually to blame, said Vladimir Bolea, MP of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), ACUM Bloc. According to him, there are several resonant cases that will show whether the legal system started to work or not, IPN reports.
The MP said the parliamentary commission that examined the issue presented names that were allegedly involved in the bank fraud, but the MPs are not investigators to formulate accusations. “This should be done by the Prosecutor General’s Office or at least the Audit Office or another body with such duties,” Vladimir Bolea stated in the talk show “Key Issue” on NTV Moldova channel.
According to him, if the Prosecutor’s Office handles the most resonant cases, including those concerning the state capture and the bank fraud, this will show that the legal system started to work in the Republic of Moldova. “We want to see all these actions completed. Was the state captured or not? As regards the MPs whose immunity was lifted, particular actions started to be taken against these persons – three MPs of the Shor Party and a Democratic MP. We want to see the case started against Ilan Shor completed,” stated the PAS MP.
Socialist MP Vasile Bolea said the Government of Moldova is looking for solutions to ease the state budget’s burden in paying interest on the state guarantees provided for covering the bank fraud. In 2020, the executive will make effort to obtain about 1 billion lei that could be used to pay subsidies to farmers, to increase particular allocations and to cover medical and social insurance. “Next January or February, we will see the projects that the Government will prepare for solving this problem,” he noted.
