Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin instructed examining how the case started against a reporter of the information portal “deschide.md” over active corruption and blackmailing of an employee of the Ministry of the Interior is investigated, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Corneliu Gurin took steps to ensure the extensive monitoring of this case, including of the way the case was started and is managed, and to determine possible conflicts of interests or provocations within the investigation. Information about the results of the investigation will be provided later.

The journalist from “deschide.md” was arrested last week. He is accused of constraining to perform a transaction or to refuse performing a transaction and of active corruption.
