Prosecutor general about cases of Platon and Cavcaliuc

Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo said he does not know where Veaceslav Platon is now. Answering journalists’ questions in a news conference, the official noted Platon is wanted in the case that is pending in court, but a Red Notice should be issued against him through the agency of the Ministry of Justice, IPN reports.

As to the case of hooliganism started against the PACE leader Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, Alexandr Stoianoglo said the investigation into this case was completed. Particular formal procedures are yet to be performed and the case will be then sent to court. As to Cavcaliuc, Alexandr Stoianoglo said he does not know where he is either. He only learned from the social media that this started a business.

The Interpol National Bureau requested Interpol’s General Secretariat in Lyon to put controversial businessman Veaceslav Platon and the president of the Party “Building Europe at Home” (PACE) Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, ex-deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, on the wanted list. The Bureau hasn’t yet received a response from the Lyon Headquarters.
