The Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT) analyzed the income, property and interest statements of 245 state officials on the website avere.md. In a news conference at IPN, ADEPT executive director Igor Botan said 186 profiles on this webpage belong to incumbent officials, while the rest of the persons were dismissed or left based on their resignations.

The analysis consists in comparing the statements of officials starting with 2009 and determining their compliance with the provisions of the law on the declaration and control of the incomes and property.

ADEPT project coordinator Elena Prohnitski told the same news conference that they also analyzed the work done by the National Integrity Commission to publish and handle officials’ statements. Among the main irregularities identified by ADEPT are the publication of officials’ statements with delay and improper use of the statements as some contained personal information, while others had information of public interest in bold type.

Elena Prohnitschi also said that the progress report of the National Integrity Commission for 2015 hasn’t been published, while ADEPT’s requests to present the report were ignored. Also, the incomes and property statements of the members of the Commission are not published on its website.

The website avere.md aims to objectively inform the people about the incomes, property and interest of public servants and about the irregularities committed when filling out the statements. Elena Prohnitschi called on the journalists to follow the website because the information there is updated almost daily. The administrators of the website also compile rankings based on the collected information.

The website was created and is maintained within the project “Increasing public control over the integrity of persons holding public posts”, which is financed by Soros Foundation Moldova.
