The Romanian Border Police provides an online form for transmitting the proof of payment of the fine imposed by the border police for contraventions. At the request of IPN, the Iasi Local Border Police Inspectorate specified that this provision applies to persons fined on Romania’s territory, IPN reports.
The form is available at the institution’s website www.politiadefrontiera.ro, in the Contacts section, where each person fills out the name, surname and personal email address, the county where the Border Police body of which the police officer who imposed the fine is based and attaches the scanned copies of the contravention proceedings and the proof of fine payment. When the mandatory spaces are completed, the sender receives confirmation of the transmitted data, while the message is sent to the local body of the Romanian Border Police of which the police officer who imposed the fine forms part.
If the fine is imposed by the border police of airport checkpoints, the proof of fine payment is transmitted through the same form, choosing the county where the airport is based.
Before September 1, 2016, the culprit was obliged to provide a copy of the payment order to the police officer within 15 days or to transmit it to the body of which this formed part through mail.
