Promoting unification could be considered as undermining Moldova’s independence

Promoting Moldova’s unification with other countries could be considered an action that undermines the country’s independence and sovereignty, under a bill approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim, the bill is based on an initiative from the group of three Socialist MPs. He said that the Government approved the concept of the bill, but it still needed to be debated in Parliament. MP Igor Dodon, who attended the Government meeting on behalf of the Socialist group, is optimistic that the initiative will be accepted by Parliament as it has the approval of the Government. Prime Minister Vlad Filat opened yesterday’s meeting of the Government by speaking about a recent increase in the number of manifestations organized by various parties and political movements, which use symbols and slogans that undermine the independence and integrity of Moldova and which tense the situation, threatening the stability and the legal and public order.
