The observers of “Promo-LEX” Association have identified cases of political campaigning in front of polling places as well as of organized transportation of voters and of deterioration of the equipment of polling places, IPN reports.

Pavel Postica, head of the Election Monitoring Effort, told a news conference that a number of polling places didn’t have electric power. At a polling place in Cahul, a ballot box was broken, while at a place in Orhei the ballots were sealed up incorrectly. Some of the voters could not be found on the electoral rolls, while others found out that somebody already voted instead of them.

The authorities didn’t issue enough additional lists to the polling place in Sanatauca village of Floresti district, where people from the Transnistrian region can vote. There were no more lists after 150 people from the Transnistrian region were registered there and more lists had to be brought from Bursuc village of the same district.

Pavel Postica noted that there were several cases when the stamp “Elections 30.11.2014” wasn’t put in the loose leaf that accompanies the identity card, which shows that the holder already voted. The ballot with the stamp ‘voted’ put on it was photographed and placed on the Internet, which is against the law.

There were identified four cases of organized transportation of voters by buses and minibuses to polling places. The Transnistrian administration stepped up the checking measures and thoroughly examined the people from Transnistria who went to vote on the right bank.

“Promo-LEX” presented the data from 700 polling places examined, which are relevant to the whole country, with a margin of error of 3%. In about 95% of the polling places, voting started on time. 65% of the buildings hosting polling places provide wheelchair access. 55% are outfitted with equipment needed by persons with visual impairments. In 4.8% of the polling places, voting was suspended because the electronic register didn’t work.
