The administration of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” had a meeting with housing stock managers of Rascani district of Chisinau. The company’s director general Constantin Becciev said such meetings with housing stock managers will be called regularly, with representatives of all the districts of Chisinau, so that these later inform the consumers about the initiated projects, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the water supplier.
“By establishing a permanent dialogue between the public utility and consumers, we will achieve the expected results of common interest in the area of water supply and sewerage services,” stated Constantin Becciev.
The program to develop the water supply system in the municipality of Chisinau, to the value of €64.8 million, which is financed by the EBRD and EIB, was another subject discussed in the meeting. In this connection, Natalia Lipca, head of the company’s project implementation unit, said the program envisions the rehabilitation of 205 km of water pipes, over 300 water mains of apartment buildings and 15 km of sewer pipes in different districts of Chisinau, including its suburbs, by December 2018. The wastewater treatment station will be modernized, while the pumping stations, treatment installations and reservoirs will be rehabilitated.
The given investment program covers facilities from Rascani district too. Vice technical director for production Adrian Cecan said 37 km of pipes will be rehabilitated here in two stages, 9 km of which will be water mains, while about 3.42 km sewer pipes.
The signing of direct contracts with consumers remains a problem. Client relations manager Vladimir Mocreac spoke about a number of relevant legal provisions, saying the company is for signing direct contracts with end-users as this will enable to solve problems related to invoicing and payment of the difference between the volumes of metered water and the volumes indicated by consumers.
Referring to the discussed problems, the representative of ICON-INSTITUT Vitalie Iovita proposed a solution that would facilitate the dialogue between the end-users and SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” – to set up committees of water users.
