Projects in agriculture in question after Government fall

A number of projects in agriculture and the negotiations for obtaining grants and funds for farmers are either postponed or in question after Parliament gave a vote of no confidence to the Government, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov stated for Info-Prim Neo. “I was informed that the talks on the European offer for agriculture that were held in Brussels were put off for a month. We were to finish the negotiations on March 11 and to sign the agreements. Everything was ready. But now we will insist. Maybe we will be able to sign the agreements. These talks were necessary for the free trade with the EU too,” said the minister. Vasile Bumacov also said that a trip to Japan was delayed. “We were to sign programs for obtaining biomass for kindergartens, schools and hospitals. The trip was to be made on March 25. A meeting was set with the Prime Minister of Japan. We now probably lost the programs and the trip will not take place. The country’s image and the socioeconomic situation have been affected,” stated the official. According to the minister, talks were also to be carried out with the World Bank. “We were to hold negotiations to receive money for those who sowed wheat and corn, but we are now not sure that they will take place,” said Vasile Bumacov. Parliament gave a vote of no confidence to the Filat Government on March 5. The Cabinet is to tender their resignation on March 8. Afterward, the President will propose a candidate for the post of Prime Minister.
