A project entitled “Filières bilingues 2.0” has been launched in Chisinau. Within it, teachers from eight bilingual francophone lyceums of Moldova will benefit from continuous training in using new technology in the teaching process. The innovative project is the result of the cooperation between the French Alliance in Moldova, the Embassy of France and the Francophone University Agency, IPN reports.
Attending the project launch, France’s Ambassador to Moldova Pascal Vagogne said that owing to the project “Filières bilingues 2.0”, the teachers who teach in bilingual classes will learn to maximally use information technology and will employ this knowledge in teaching French. The diplomat appreciated the work done by the teachers of French, saying that owing to them and the bilingual classes, the Republic of Moldova is the most francophone country in Western Europe.
The project aims to create synergies between teachers from Moldova and those from the region. Thus, training courses will be held for about 150 teachers from seven towns of the city, where there are bilingual lyceums.
Responsible for the Francophone University Agency’s Antenna in Chisinau the Roxana Turcanu said the project will sensitize and will train not only teachers of French, but also teachers of other non-bilingual disciplines who work in lyceums with bilingual classes. Four trainers from France and several other regional trainers will present new methods of teaching in bilingual classes.
The initiative to form the teaching corps from bilingual lyceums forms part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Moldova’s entry into the Francophone University Agency.
The project is implemented with the financial support of the French Institute and owing to the cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the mediateques that are partners of the Novateca project and with support from Romanian and Bulgarian experts.
