Famous singers, symphonic and folk music orchestras and guests from abroad will perform at the concert that will be given on the Chisinau City’s Day celebrated on October 14. The concert will feature the band “Zdob și Zdub” and Romanian singer Connect-R, who will sing alongside Adrian Ursu, IPN reports.

The day will start with the traditional laying of flowers at the monument to ruler Stephan the Great and Holy and with a service at the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” in central Chisinau.

The festivities will be officially opened in the Cathedrals’ Square at 11am. Not far, on the Alley of the Cathedral’s Square, there will be mounted exhibitions of handicrafts, floral arrangements, books, paintings and graphic works. On the section of Ștefan ce Mare Blvd between the streets Ismail and Mihai Viteazul, the district head’s offices will set up stages where they will present musical-chorographic and reactional programs, exhibitions, etc.

In the morning, the National Children’s and Youth Center ARTICO will give a performance of music in the central square of Chisinau. This will be followed by a musical-chorographic performance staged by the pre-university education institutions of Chisinau municipality and a choreographic show by the Modern Dance Association.

During two hours, elderly people could dance famous waltzes and tangoes played by the brass band of the Culture and Recreation Division of Chisinau in the central park of the capital city.

In the evening, the Great National Assembly Square will host a concert that will involve artists and musical groups. There will be no fireworks this year. 

In connection with the planned events, the section of Ștefan ce Mare Blvd between the streets Ismail and Mihai Viteazul will be closed to traffic from 10pm on October 13 until 6am on October 15. The public transport will be diverted to adjoining streets.
