The cultural events that will be staged on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the declaration of Moldova’s independence on August 27 will start with the laying of flowers at the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great in central Chisinau at 8:30am. At 9am, flowers will be laid at the Memorial Complex “Eternity”, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
At 9am, the Brass Band of the Carabineer Troops will stage marches with choreographic elements and will play festive songs in the central square of Chisinau. Close to 10am, vocal-choreographic children’s ensembles “Angels dance” and “Lollipops”, Valentin Uzun and Amelia will present the vocal-musical choreographic work “Maria Mirabela” by Eugen Doga. At 10.15am, the holiday will be officially opened. The opening ceremony will involve Prime Minister Pavel Filip and other officials who will deliver speeches.
Performances will be later given by the folk music ensemble “Martsishor”, the Orchestra of the Advahov Borthers, singers Igor Rusu, Mihai Ciobanu, Zinaida Julea, Osoianu Sisters, Igor Cuciuc, Brio Sonores, the orchestra of the Academy of Music “Big Jazz Orchestra” and Geta Burlacu, Nicolae Glib, Cornelia Stefanet, Natalia Munteanu, the orchestra “Fluieras”, the folk music ensemble “Joc”.
At 4:30pm, the American band Freedom’S Boombox will give a recital, while the 5pm performance will involve Costi Burlacu, Corina Tepes, Nataliei Gordienko, Iurie Sadovnic, Vitalie Dani, Cristina Scarlat, the band Acord, Lerica, Valy Boghean and Angry Band.
The Romanian band Holograf and singer Smiley and Moldova DJ Andrew Rayel will perform after 7pm. There will also be staged a laser show.
