The Government approved a Parliament decision on the plan of cultural-artistic events dedicated to the Year of Dumitru Matcovschi, IPN reports.

The 22nd International Book Fair will also be dedicated to the writer. There will be opened the exhibition “You are my tear, Bessarabia”. The national Romanian language and literature Olympiad will be organized in memory of Dumitru Matcovschi. There will also be held a contest of poetry and songs and a national literary contest.

It is planned to publish the works of Dumitru Matcovschi. There will be produced a series of radio and TV programs and documentaries. The collectors will be able to buy postage stamps with the writer’s picture, while the theater lovers will be able to see the plays “Life Tree” and “Lullaby for Grandparents”, by Dumitru Matcovschi.

Dumitru Matcovschi died on June 26, 2013, after suffering from a disease for a long time. He was 73.
