Four national leasing companies will create the Association of Leasing Companies of Moldova. By founding such a noncommercial professional association, the members aim to give an impetus to the development of the leasing market, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the association. ”The idea of creating the Association of Leasing Companies appeared several years ago, but we managed to agree on the interests of the main participants in this market only recently. We want the leasing segment to work in a safe and balanced way, to develop new services that would be clear to everyone. The association’s aim is to protect not only the operators and participants in the market, but also the clients. We would like the clients to understand the advantages and all the aspects of the leasing contract,” said the association’s head Natan Garstea. The association intends to closely cooperate with the public authorities and business partners from Moldova and abroad, to organize symposiums and seminars on the leasing activity. “In accordance with the association’s statues, any legal entity that provides leasing services as main activity can become a member of this organization. Several leasing companies are in the process of joining the association and we hope that it will become the entity that will protect and promote the interests of all the market operators,” said Natan Garstea. According to the association’s data, there are over 20 leasing companies in Moldova. In 2011, the leasing market was assessed at €60 million. The companies “Express Leasing”, „MAIB-Leasing”, “Raiffeisen Leasing” and “Total Leasing” account for over 70% of this market.
