The International Women’s Club of Moldova stages the ninth annual Night of Art charity exhibition and sale on April 27. The proceeds will go to children receiving treatment for leukemia and other serious forms of cancer at the Oncology Institute in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. Exhibition coordinator Kate Shannon, who is the wife of the British Ambassador to Moldova, said that this year the exhibit will include works made by young artists and even students. The event is an exceptional occasion to showcase the talent of Moldovan artists. Works of over 80 artists will be displayed this year. The best Moldovan wine, beer, soft drinks and a delicious Moldovan style buffet are included in the price of the ticket. The money collected from the sale of tickets will be used to buy equipment and consumables needed for the children’s treatment. The painters will pay by 300 lei for two square meter of exhibition space and this money will also go to charity. The International Women’s Club of Moldova was founded in 1997. It has raised over US$233,000 for charity since then. The Night of Art-2012 will take place at Moldexpo between 18:00 and 21:30. Tickets cost 100 lei.
