Procedure for exporting goods from Transnistria modified
The Transnistrian companies that export products by trains are to validate the customs documents at the internal customs posts. Afterward, they will go through the Ukrainian customs posts situated on the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border. A condition for Moldova's Railways is to set up goods checking offices at the border crossing points with the help of the Ukrainian side, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A related amendment was approved by the Government on September 8, at the request of Transnistrian economic entities. In a letter to the executive, they say the crisis seriously affected their activity. About 70% of Transnistria's goods are exported by railroad.
Under the customs regime instituted in 2006 in accordance with the joint statement of the Prime Ministers of Moldova and Ukraine, the exported goods are directed to the border crossing points located outside the Transnistrian segment of the frontier. The economic entities have to use bypassing roads when transporting the goods and incur large additional costs.
Until the decision takes effect, the state-run Moldova's Railways is to deal with the legal and technical aspects and draw up the related documents.
