Procedure for civil status certificates registration has been simplified
The territorial Registry Offices, diplomatic missions and consular offices of Moldova will have the right to register certificates of civil status issued by foreign authorities to Moldovan nationals. On Friday, July 13, the Parliament made amendments in this respect to the Law on Civil Status Certificates.
According to the Ministry of Informational Development, these proposals arise from the need to facilitate accessibility in matters of civil status registration for all the Moldovan citizens inside or outside the country.
The draft law also stipulates that in the localities without registry offices, the certificates of civil status may be registered by the mayor’s offices, within the limit of their competences.
Another aspect of the amendments refers to the way of financing registry offices. The draft law suggests that the registry offices may use the charges for services of technical and legal nature to finance themselves.
