Probe sought into allocation of land for Communist Party Hdq
Sergiu Palihovici, the central government's representative in Chisinau municipality, requested the Municipal Prosecutor's Office to investigate the legality of the allocation of a land plot to the Communist Party in 2006, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The 0.247ha plot, situated on Armeneasca Street, was allocated to the Communist Party by the City Council on 16 March 2006. Later the then ruling party built its new headquarters on that plot.
According to Sergiu Palihovici, the land was allocated under laws applicable to NGOs, which the Communist Party is not. Instead, the City Council should have used the public tender procedure, Palihovici argued.
