PRO TV asks prosecutors to investigate cases of police aggressing its crews

PRO TV has lodged a complaint with the General Prosecutor's Office asking to probe two recent cases in which policemen aggressed PRO TV crews, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the station. A PRO TV cameraman was harshly beaten on Wednesday in the quarters of the Rascani police from Chisinau. Mihai Sambra was arrested on the street by a police patrol and taken to the commissariat, where he was maltreated by four policeman, reads the communique. Mihai Sambra, who was set free only the next day, says the police have not written minutes and have provided him with no explanation. According to a forensic physician, the cameraman has brain concussion and the nose broken. Another PRO TV crew was treated violently by a policeman and by the deputy police commissar of Orhei, Petru Golban, in the quarters of the court. “Our TV station condemns the irresponsible behavior of the police involved in those incidents and asks the Interior Minister to punish them for committing those illegalities,” reads the communique inked by PRO TV Chisinau's manager Catalin Giosan.
