Pro-Russian politician believes he'll be an MP

Leader of the pro-Russian social-political movement “Ravnopravie” Valery Climenco is confident his organization will enter the next Parliament. He made the statement on Tuesday at a news conference in Chisinau adding he expects to collect over 8% of the voters' ballots, Info-Prim Neo reports. “All the promises of the left-wing parties have not been accomplished,” Climenco stated, adding he will represent the interests of the Russian minority in the future parliament, will ask to officialize the Russian language, will strive to keep Moldova's statehood and for the people's economic prosperity. Valery Climenco says other parties and movement may join him for the Parliament. The pro-Russian politician says he became entitled to run for Parliament after modifying the movement's status. Referring to the Justice Ministry's compelling all the parties to adjust their statutes to the latest legal modifications, the Ravnopravie leader says “it's nothing by a method by the ruling party to oust parties from the political arena.” Valery Climenco earlier had said he “is in a long-term delegation to Moldova”. Ravnopravie says it joins some 5,000 members and got 2.3% of votes in the last elections.
