The Professionalism and Responsibility for People Movement (PRO Movement) warns about the risk of dishonest, corrupt and discredited persons, who committed a multitude of offenses and crimes against the state, entering Parliament. In a news conference at IPN, the Movement’s leader Gheorghe Costandachi called on the administration of the future block ACUM, which consists of the PAS, PPPDA and representatives of civil society, to accept upright and professional persons on its electoral lists for the parliamentary elections.

According to Gheorghe Costandachi, each candidate should present at least one proof showing that this is a person with a clean past and committed no acts of corruption or other offenses. The candidates who will not go through the integrity filters and will be unable to justify the origin of assets should be disqualified by law. Those who aspire to the seat of MP should also take the lie detector test.

PRO Movement member Igor Borfotina said that after analyzing different journalistic investigations, he established that Igor Dodon, Zinaida Grecianyi, Marian Lupu, Vlad Plahotniuc, Ilan Shor, Iurie Leancă and other current MPs and politicians do not have the moral right to run in the upcoming elections.

Member Alexandru Gamanji said to ensure a correct election campaign, the mass media should be impartial and should reflect the information correctly, without distorting the reality. All the candidates should be invited to electoral debate. The swift distribution of information is a main criteria as the news items about all the candidates, regardless of the party they represent, are presented as soon as possible. The media should lay emphasis on the moral qualities and integrity of candidates. A body of representatives of civil society should be constituted to monitor and combat fake news.
