The parliamentary group Pro Moldova proposed a bill with social protection measures for those who remained without a job as a result of the pandemic crisis, more exactly for those who have one, two or three more years until the standard retirement age so that they could benefit from pension in advance, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Pro Moldova leader Andrian Candu said the bill will be registered in Parliament today, June 17. He asked the MPs to support it and called on the Government to appraise the bill in the nearest future so that it could be debated and adopted in Parliament next week.
“The state, by its decisions, obliged a lot of business entities to stop work for a period of time or to limit their activity. This made the companies become insolvent or be on the verge of bankruptcy and most of these business entities laid the people off or sent them on leave,” stated Andrian Candu.
MP Elena Bacalu noted that this bill will improve the situation of many Moldovans. “When making staff redundant, the companies had to also lay off persons who were to work for a period shorter than three years to reach retirement and get an old-age pension for the reason that the economy is now in recession following the taking of inefficient economic and social measures by the state. It is very hard for them to find a job and hindrances were thus created artificially to them in obtaining an old-age pension. In such conditions, the state is obliged to intervene and remedy the created situation and to offer the persons of the mentioned age the possibility of retiring earlier in the current extraordinary conditions,” said the MP.
