The Pro Moldova parliamentary group filed an application to the Prosecutor Generic’s Office (PGO) by which it asks to investigate President Igor Dodon for the blackmail and intimidation he allowed in relation to judges of the Constitutional Court, the parliamentary opposition and society, IPN reports.
“All these actions taken by President Dodon are considered offenses both in relation to judges of the Constitutional Court and to the opposition. All these threats addressed to society fall under the criminal law,” Pro Moldova leader Andrian Candu stated in a press briefing.
“Not less serious are the actions of the Parliament Speaker and the President of the Republic of Moldova who signed the law on the assumption of responsibility without obeying the legal timeframes and provisions, by seriously violating the legislation,” noted Andrian Candu, referring to the law that was subsequently declared unconstitutional.
The politician also referred to the lending agreement with the Russian Federation, saying they prepared a letter to the Prime Minister of Russia by which they ask for information about the team of negotiators. “We consider the agreement hasn’t been negotiated. The government resorted to illegalities in the signing of the document and we have all the reasons to consider that President Dodon and his governmental team are trying to get gains through the illegal schemes covered by the document at our expense,” said Andrian Candu.
The Constitutional Court recently suspended the coming into force of the €200 million lending agreement with Russia after Pro Moldova asked the Court to pronounce on this contract.
