Pro Moldova launches second stage of campaign to dismiss Gavrilița Government

The political party Pro Moldova has launched the second stage of the campaign to dismiss the Gavrilița Government. The citizens who took part in the first stage of the campaign are asked to send short films with messages intended for the Gavrilița Government in which to state their support for the Prime Minister or to seek its resignation. The videos will be published on the official website of the Pro Moldova Party and on social networking sites, the acting chairman of the party Boris Foca stated in a news conference hosted by IPN.

Boris Foca noted that those who are for or against the dismissal of the
Gavrilița Government are asked to send small films through the email gavrilitapleaca@gmail.com and these will be daily posted on the official website of Pro Moldova and on social networking sites. “In parallel with the online votes, we expect short messages from citizens, from colleagues and friends. There, the citizen during several seconds can address a message of support or can seek the resignation of the Prime Minister together with the whole Cabinet,” stated Boris Foca.

The acting chairman of the party noted that by these messages, Pro Moldova aims to show that the dissatisfaction with the current government comes not only from persons representing political parties, including Pro Moldova. “If we enter winter with a weak Government, it will be a national problem and we hope a lot that citizens’ problems will persuade you to take the decision to resign as swiftly as possible,” he stated.

According to Boris Foca, the results of the first stage of the campaign to dismiss the Gavrilița Government met their expectations. In a week of the campaign to collect signatures in favor of the dismissal of the Gavrilița Government, over 100,000 people voted and 67,000 of these voted in favor of the dismissal, while 33,300 voted against. 67% of the voters are from the municipality of Chisinau. No paid campaign was conducted to generate the given votes.

The acting chairman of Pro Moldova said that attempts were made to hack the signature collection website. “I want to reiterate that this is an assumed project for which we bear responsibility and, if we see leaks, we will complain to the Prosecutor’s Office. Let’s remain calm and sensible and allow the people to choose, as they did every time,” concluded Boris Foca.
