Representatives of a number of extraparliamentary parties were invited to the Presidential Palace on Wednesday. According to them, they discussed the situation in the country and the path of European integration, the necessity of an institutionalized dialogue between extraparliamentary parties and the legislative and executive branches, the Constitutional Court’s decision to outlaw the Shor Party and the intention of the leaders of his party to unite around other parties, IPN reports.

When going out of the Presidential Palace, secretary general of the Coalition for Unity and Wellbeing Igor Klipii said that this format for the opposition parties represents the last hope that their voice will be heard. The public agenda does not include such key issues that are discussed in society as poverty, jobs and prices and they should be added to the public agenda.

Vasile Costiuc, chairman of the Party “Democracy at Home”, noted that most of the invited parties insisted on an institutionalized dialogue formula so as to regularly discuss all kinds of existing problems. According to him, this dialogue should include representatives from the Parliament and the Government.

The Ecologist Green Party’s chairman Anatolie Prohnitski said that they saw greater openness on the part of President Maia Sandu and he considers the ruling party realizes the necessity of making a common front with the pro-European parties.

Chairman of the Party of Change Ștefan Gligor stated that when the integral parties are put in an unequal competition with the well-financed organized crime, we risk losing the remains of democracy and any hope as regards the European integration. The authorities aim to toughen up particular Criminal Code provisions so as to penalize attempts to corrupt voters.

Liviu Vovc, secretary general of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, said that in the meeting it was reiterated the necessity of extending the commission for European integration under the President by including representatives of pro-European extraparliamentary parties.

The discussions involved representatives of the ruling party. MP of the Party of Action and Solidarity Lilian Carp told the press that the pro-European parties were invited to the discussions as these parties include people with experience who can lend a hand to the European integration process.
