Prizes for best essays at "My Romania" 2019 contest

Over 60 works of children and young authors from the Republic of Moldova have been awarded prizes by the Ministry for Romanians Abroad from Romania, the organizer of the second edition of this essay contest. The competition was attended by young people enrolled in "ARC - 2019" Camping Program, in Romania. Out of the total of 292 works submitted within the contest, 97 have been written by children and young people from Moldova, 63 of them receiving prizes, IPN reports.

The award ceremony for the participants in "My Romania" 2019 essay contest was organized by the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Moldova, on the occasion of the celebration of the Romanian Language Day.

A press release of the Embassy states that, in his speech, the Romanian ambassador to Chisinau, Daniel Ioniță, emphasized the importance of organizing the award ceremony for the winners of "My Romania" essay contest on the occasion of the joint celebration, on the two banks of the Prut, of the Romanian Language Day. At the same time, the ambassador maintained that education represented the most important value on which a secure, prosperous and pre-eminently European future could be built, Romania contributing to this goal on yearly basis, through scholarships and a generous number of places for Moldovan pupils and students in the ARC camps.

During the ceremony, the winners of the competition were offered diplomas, objects as prizes and a place for each in the ARC Camping for the next year.
