Several persons who participated or were in key positions during the period when "Auto Stations" SC was privatized have been interrogated on September 11 by members of the Committee of inquiry for analysis of the organization and conduct of the privatization and the concession of public property between 2013-2019, IPN reports.
The first to appear before the committee was Sergiu Bucătaru, former secretary of state at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. "The feasibility study that was the basis for signing the privatization contract was contracted by "Auto Stations" SC, initially subordinated to the Ministry of Economy, and then to the Public Property Agency," said Sergiu Bucătaru, who also mentioned that he did not participate and did not see the privatization contract.
Octavian Calmâc, former Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, told the committee that the institution led by him had no direct involvement in the "Auto Stations" management and he did not take part in the discussions concerning the problem of company’s privatization.
Former head of the Public Property Agency, Vladimir Baldovici, mentioned that the institution headed by him had awarded the privatization contract fairly.
At the end of the hearings, MP Igor Munteanu, the chairman of the Committee of Inquiry, said that the preliminary reports would be ready next week. "In about 10 days we will present the report of the committee at the Parliament plenary," said Igor Munteanu.
