Private scholarships for students
Democratic MPs put forward a draft initiative concerning the institution of private scholarships. The private scholarship is an amount of money provided monthly by an organization or an economic entity based on a contract with the scholar, in exchange for the guarantee that he will work for them for a twice longer period than the period during which he received the scholarship, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The scholar must be aged between 16 and 30, be student, applicant for a doctor’s degree or attendee of a training program at an accredited education institution in Moldova. The scholarship will represent one to three official minimum salaries, i.e. between 900 and 2,700 lei.
The contract for the provision of the scholarship can be signed in the first year of study and up to graduation. It can be extended if the general grade in exact sciences specialties is not lower than “7”, while in humanities specialties – not lower than “8” at the end of the academic year.
The private scholarships will be provided based on a public contest. The person who holds a state award cannot receive simultaneously a private scholarship. If the scholar does not want to obey the norms concerning the signing of the work contract, he will have to pay back the scholarships given to him.
