The public partnership contract provides that the bus company “Gările Auto Moderne” SRL will invest over 200 million lei in the reconstruction and modernization of bus stations. Additionally, the investor during the 25 years will transfer about 250 million lei to the state for using its property and providing services. The public-private partnership contract will be declassified, the company’s manager Yuri Moroz stated in a news conference at IPN.
Yuri Moroz noted that during the period of validity of the contract, the company will annually pay over 10 million lei to the state. The sum is ten times higher than the revenues earned by the state-run company “Gările și Stațiile Auto” during a year. “During the first year, our company made investments totaling 38 million lei in the modernization of eight bus terminals in the districts of Fălești, Leova, Ștefan Vodă, Căușeni, Comrat, Vulcănești, Ceadâr-Lunga,” stated the manager. During the first year alone, in addition to the investments, 5.3 million lei was transferred to the state budget, with the state being the beneficiary for offering the right to provide the service and manage its assets.
“In 2014-2018, the state-run company (“Gările și Stațiile Auto”) made investments in the capitalization of bus terminals totaling 18 million lei public funds. The company “Gările Auto Moderne” SRL made private investments of 38 million lei. Respectively, it invested by 20 million lei more during the first year of activity alone. Is there a difference? The state-run company – 18 million lei during five years, while the private partner 38 million lei during a year,” stated Yuri Moroz.
According to him, all the modernized and built facilities are in the exclusive ownership of the state.
