A prisoner held on remand at Penitentiary no.13 in Chisinau escaped from custody today as he was escorted toward the Centru District Court where he was due to stand trial. Half an hour later, the man was recaptured, the Penitentiary Department reported. The man, who has a criminal record, was caught by the police a few blocks from the place of his escape. The prisoner is from Drochia and is charged with robbery. He has been remanded in Chisinau for two months now.
