The Military Prosecutor's Office of Chisinau sent a legal case started against a prison employee to court. The employee is accused of illegally transmitting banned objects to prisoners, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Prosecutor General's Office. According to the prosecutors, the employee of the Guard and Escort Service of Penitentiary No. 9 in Pruncu, during March-July 2009, passed on mobile phones to the detainees in exchange for 100 lei per phone. The warrant officer was caught in the act of taking a phone and 100 lei from a person. If found guilty of misuse of power, he would serve up to three years in jail.
