An employee of Penitentiary No. 4 Cricova is suspected of bringing drugs and other prohibited substances into the prison. The 23-year-old man faces a fine of up to 100,000 lei or up to five years in prison, IPN reports.

During searches of his car, police officers found hashish, two cell phones and two SIM cards. A cell phone, used for the purpose of committing the crime, was found and seized in the convicts' cell.

According to the law enforcement officers, the employee of the Cricova penitentiary is being investigated at large. The inmates involved will be brought to Penitentiary No. 13 for hearings as part of the investigation.

Further action is being taken to establish all circumstances and all persons involved.
