The Government of Moldova appreciates the assistance provided by the United States in the adoption of the UN General Assembly’s resolution on the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Moldova’s territory and of the U.S. Congress’ resolution that reflects the support for Moldova’s Western aspirations, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James Pettit, IPN reports, with reference to the Government’s press service.
The officials exchanged opinions on the latest national, regional and international developments. Pavel Filip thanked the United States for the generous support offered to Moldova in different areas and formats.
The interlocutors underlined the importance of ensuring communication through all the available channels so as to put into practice the agreements reached during the discussions with the administration and legislature of the U.S.
James Pettit reiterated the United States’ readiness to offer assistance in strengthening the bilateral Moldova – U.S. dialogue and in making progress on the pro-Western path of Moldova.
The discussions between the two officials were held in private following the recent visit paid to the United States by Premier Pavel Filip.
